METAL MACHINERY 5-7 November 2021

METAL MACHINERY, the trade exhibition of machinery and metal processing technologies, industrial equipment and industrial subcontracting, comes again on 5-7 of November, 2021, at Athens Metropolitan EXPO, with more vigour and technological innovation than ever.

The great success of the first edition of the exhibition, in November, 2018, and the increasing interest of the market in METAL MACHINERY 2021 have raised the bar and fueled the need for the organisation of an even more impressive exhibition in November, 2021, which will integrate every aspect of the industry. An industry that steadily and consistently moves forward into a new era.

METAL MACHINERY 2021 offers access in a variety of automation, industrial floors, tools, welding machines, cutting tools, means of transport, ball bearings, filters, steel and other products, promising to showcase every advancement in the sectors of machinery, metal processing, as of industrial equipment and industrial subcontracting.

METAL MACHINERY 2021 will emphasise two important pillars of the sector. The first one involves the promotion of industrial subcontracting, industrial equipment and the importance of the creation and development of cooperative networks between regional or even global production units. The second one involves the approach of Industry 4.0, that is the current trend of automation and data exchange in production technologies, which is generally referred as the fourth industrial revolution. The challenges which occur from the digital production can advance and promote every industry, opening opportunities which were previously unthinkable.

METAL MACHINERY 2021 is organised by ROTA S.A. and T-EXPO S.A. with the support of SEKEM – Panhellenic Association of Importers and Manufacturers of Metal Processing, Cutting and Soldering Machines.

The METAL MACHINERY exhibition is postponed to November 2021!

METAL MACHINERY the professional exhibition, concerning the machines and technologies of metal processing, industrial equipment and industrial subcontracting, which was scheduled to be held from 13 to 15 November 2020 at the Metropolitan Expo exhibition centre, at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, in Athens , due to the effects of the pandemic on the market, is postponed to November 2021.

Considering the concerns and objective difficulties of visitors and exhibitors as well as their impact on the overall quality of the exhibition, the organisers of METAL MACHINERY have come to this decision, in agreement with SEKEM – Panhellenic Association of Importers and Manufacturers of Metal Processing, Cutting and Welding Machines.

The great success of the first exhibition, in November 2018, paved the way for the creation of an even more complete and dynamic exhibition in November 2021, for the industry. An industry that, steadily and maturely, brings the dawn of a new era!

In order to present and promote all technological developments and productive means of the industrial sector, Metal Machinery will host for the second time in November 2021 large industrial units and will prepare the ground for finding specialised solutions to the issues that concern the industry.

Metal Machinery 2021 will focus on two specific issues in the industry. The first concerns the promotion of industrial subcontracting and the importance of creating and developing cooperation networks between domestic and non-domestic production units. The second is Industry 4.0, ie the current trend of automation and data exchange in production technologies, which is commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution. The challenges that appear around digital production can be very important for the development and impetus of Greek industry.

Greek industry has a powerful presence and a promising future; it can constitute a pillar of development for the Greek economy by providing good quality and specialised jobs. That was the strong message from the first Metal Machinery 2018 exhibition of industrial equipment, production technologies and metal processing that closed successfully and has already become an institution for the technical and industrial sector.

The exhibition opened on Friday 9th and closed on Sunday 11th November at Metropolitan Expo, in the airport area, and attracted high level exhibitors and thousands of visitors who honoured it and promised to meet again in November 2020, at the 2nd Metal Machinery, with even more participants from Greece and abroad.

For 3 days, the 103 high level exhibitors gave thousands of visitors, including industrial and processing industry executives, craftsmen and production sector professionals, the opportunity to see the most modern metal processing machinery and industrial equipment.

Metal Machinery 2018 proved to be a significant B2B tool. Within the framework of the exhibition, significant business agreements were signed for the sale of high level industrial equipment to both large and small industrial units in Greece. During the exhibition, significant interest in and high demand for specialised solutions that increase productivity and competitiveness, and improve energy efficiency was noted.

For modern industry, research and innovation constitute a competitive advantage. Giorgos Vosniakos, Professor and Mechanical Engineering at the NTUO, MSc and PhD, stated that he considers their participation at the exhibition significant, given that it was an opportunity to present their practical market dimension, and also to meet with industry. Special presentations and seminars on the application of modern technologies and digitalisation in industrial processes were organised at the Laboratory’s stand with the participation of a large number of students.

The success of the exhibition is reflected in exhibitor statements. Vaggelis Gizelis, chairman and chief executive officer of Gizelis S.A. and Gizelis Robotics S.A. stated that «Greek manufacturers and importers of metal processing machinery and components made their presence felt at Metal Machinery. I can now smile because my expectation became reality.»

Vasilis Apostolou, chairman of the Panhellenic Association of Importers and Manufacturers of Machinery and Metal Processing and founder of PROMAK noted: «It is now a technological event. An exhibition that had never been held in Greece before. Amidst the crisis, I was really surprised by the success of Metal Machinery 2018.»
